Oshawa’s Regent Theatre is starting the new year in style with several must-see performances.
Jan. 19 brings the all-Canadian cast of Abbamania, touted as the largest production of its kind in the world to recreate the magic and excitement of ABBA in concert. The show includes authentic costumes, vocal collaboration and superb stage performances.
Night Fever, on the same bill Jan 19, is the ultimate tribute to the Bee Gees, recreating the sound and the look of one of the greatest pop bands in history. For five decades, the Bee Gees outwitted the international music scene with their tenacity to remain current through every era of contemporary music.
On Feb. 2, locals will be treated to a showman’s flair, a comedian’s wit, and a bona fide mentalist: The Amazing Kreskin. Through six decades his name became an integral part of pop culture throughout the world. Kreskin has had a television series, his own Milton Bradley board game, 20 published books and a major motion picture inspired by his work. And, at 83 years of age, Kreskin shows no signs of slowing down. He continues to perform his legendary live shows in front of packed audiences around the world, playing more than 200 dates yearly.
