Art and About provides creative outlet for adults with autism and their families

Every Sunday afternoon between January 6th and March 24th, 2019, from 2:00-4: 00 pm, adults with autism and their family members can gather at the Oshawa Art Resource Centre to participate in a special program called “Art and About” put on by Autism Home Base Durham. Autism Home Base Durham is a registered charity that provides social and recreational programs for adults with autism in Durham Region. Art and About is a free weekly program that allows participants to create a new art project every session under the guidance of a professional art instructor. The program is open to those of all skill levels and abilities, with no previous art experience required.

Kristina DeLuca, Autism Home Base Durham’s program director, explained that by participating in Art and About, “members get to explore a variety of techniques, materials, and mediums and have some fun! Autism Home Base Durham programs are created for families by families-both the adults with autism and the family caregivers get a chance to make connections with their peers in their own community”.

Autism Home Base Durham programs are for members. If you are interested in joining Art and About or any other Autism Home Base programming, please contact Kristina, Program Manager by email at kristina@homebasedurham.com, or by phone at 289-278-3489 ext 2.
