Brass Transit, the world’s foremost Chicago tribute band, is coming to the Regent Theatre Saturday March 30. Formed in 2008, the band brings together eight talented Canadian musicians to pay tribute to the decades-long, multi platinum Chicago songbook.
Since then, the band has steadily toured North America with hits like Saturday In The Park, 25 or 6 To 4, If You Leave Me Now, Feelin’ Stronger Every Day and Beginnings. They recently produced their first album, taking songs by other top artists from the seventies and recording them with horns in the CHICAGO style. The result is a fresh approach to some of the greatest hits of the era. They also recently scored their show for full symphony orchestra with original arrangements.
Friday April 5 sees Leisa Way starring in Sweet Dreams: A Tribute To Patsy Cline. A tiny powerhouse, Way’s voice and personality regularly dominate the stage at Upper Canada Playhouse, filling the theatre to capacity.
Backed by a four man band, Way delivers classic Cline numbers like Crazy, The Tennessee Waltz and Walkin’ After Midnight. Her performance includes over 25 of Patsy Cline’s hits plus touching stories and anecdotes about the beloved artist tragically lost in a 1963 plane crash.
