Brooklin Harvest Festival returns

Residents of all ages are invited to the Brooklin Harvest Festival being held on Saturday, September 15 from 10 am to 4pm– a free, outdoor, community event that celebrates the start of fall.

“For good reason, this annual event is one of our most popular,” said Mayor Don Mitchell. “This year, we look forward to a variety of festive, fall activities including pumpkin decorating, buskers and new live entertainment for all ages to enjoy.”

Back by popular demand, this year’s 19th annual Brooklin Harvest Festival will include a harvest marketplace, with more than 75 food and community vendors. A number of Whitby Farmers’ Market vendors will also be on site, offering fruits, vegetables, flowers, baked goods and other unique, homemade products. In addition, families will enjoy the kids’ zone, interactive games, petting zoo, hayrides and live entertainment. A number of local businesses will also be participating with special promotions and activities.

As the event is pedestrian-focused and includes road closures, residents are encouraged to walk, bike or use other forms of active transportation to get to the site. Secure and designated bike parking will be available at the event. The festival takes place at Grass Park and Downtown Brooklin (with activities taking place along Baldwin Street from Cassels Road to Way Street)

Limited parking is available in the municipal parking lot at 3 Vipond Rd., at the Brooklin Community Centre and Library at 8 Vipond Rd., and Brooklin Memorial Park (access off St. Thomas Street).
