Community invited to Oshawa’s New Year’s Levee on January 5

Meet your new Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter and members of the newly elected Oshawa Council at a New Year’s Levee on Saturday January 5, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre Street South.

The New Year’s Levee is a free family event featuring refreshments and live entertainment from the Heartstrings Quartet, comprised of members of the Durham Youth Orchestra. Crafts and family activities will be available for children who are welcome to attend with their parents.

Free parking is available in front of the City Hall entrance, entering from Bagot Street, directly across from The Robert McLaughlin Art Gallery or across from the McLaughlin Branch of the library.

“Families are welcome to join us as we officially welcome in the New Year,” said Mayor Dan Carter. “Oshawa is a caring community. As we celebrate the holidays and prepare for a new season for the city, share with us how you demonstrate the spirit of service in our community by emailing your story of kindness to or calling 905-436-5611,” added Mayor Carter.

Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to Feed the Need in Durham. For more information, visit or call Service Oshawa at 905-436-3311.
