Driver allegedly tries to hit pedestrians in Pickering parking lot

A 21-year-old male is facing charges after he attempted to hit pedestrians with his vehicle in a Pickering Boston Pizza parking lot.

On Friday, May 4, 2018, at approximately 11:18 p.m., police were called to the Boston Pizza on Brock Road after a driver was seen trying to intentionally hit pedestrians. When officers arrived, the male was seen fleeing through the parking lot on foot. An officer chased him down and placed him under arrest according to Jodi MacLean, spokesperson for Durham Regional police

Jahvon DESILVA, age 21 of Village Green in Scarborough, is charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Fail to Comply with Recognizance; Breach of Recognizance and Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine). He was held for a bail hearing.

According to the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa, the same man will be tried in December on four charges stemming from a separate incident from 2017. The charges in that case are three counts of failure to comply with recognizance and assault.
