Eight Lady Blue Knight elite players are U19 National Lacrosse Champions

Team Ontario are U19 National Invitational Field Lacrosse Champions. A team of 18 young women travelled to Calgary, Alberta to compete in the National Tournament, and included a large local contingent of Lady Blue Knights from Durham Region. Six of their elite players were there to represent Team Ontario – Olivia Toll, Kylea Dobson, Mackenzie Beam, Abby Lee, Abigael Hiltz and Sophie Hofmann, along with Carolyn Toll, assistant coach and Carolyn Beam, the GM. Toll and Lee are two-time National Champions and Beam is a three time National Champion.

At half time Alberta was ahead 6-4 over Ontario. In the second half the U19 women fought back and took the lead to eventually win 10-7, and capture gold. Thanks in large part to the Lady Blue Knight representation, this is Team Ontario’s third consecutive National Championship title.

The Lady Blue Knights Field Lacrosse organization started in 2000, with 60 girls playing Under 15 House League, and has continued to grow at a rapid pace ever since. The league has attracted girls from all over Durham Region and now has over 500 girls playing House League and Rep.

Lady Blue Knights boast the highest registration of all organizations in the Province with 500 plus members. Their Rep teams have won 50 Provincial Championships, including the 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2012 Ontario Summer Games Championships.
