A 26-year-old Ajax male was fatality injured after a head on collision in the Town of Ajax.
On June 27 at approximately 4:40 a.m., members of West Division were dispatched to a serious motor-vehicle collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Westney Road and Williamson Drive in Ajax. A white 2010 Mercedes Benz sustained extensive damage. The driver, a 20-year-old female was extricated from the vehicle and taken to local hospital. She sustained minor injuries and was released a short time later.
The second vehicle, a blue Mazda 3 sedan also sustained extensive damage. The 26-year old driver of the Mazda along with four other passengers were all extricated from the vehicle by emergency services. The driver had no vital signs and despite the best efforts of E.M.S, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The four passengers from the Mazda, all males in their 20s were seriously injured and rushed to Toronto based trauma centers. One is currently listed in critical condition, the other three are listed in serious but stable condition.
Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch, Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
