Firearm seized at Oshawa residence

Five people are facing numerous gun-related charges after a rifle was seized at a residence in Oshawa last week.

On Friday, February 22, 2019, members of the Gun and Gang Unit concluded a gun investigation in the Oshawa area. Five suspects were arrested in Oshawa during a search warrant at a residence on Centre Street South in Oshawa. Investigators with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit seized a .22 Caliber Mossberg rifle and a replica firearm.

Jonathan Miller, age 34, of Centre Street South in Oshawa, Tony Cooper, age 26, of Simcoe Street in Oshawa, Brandy Labrecque, age 43, of Colborne Street in Oshawa, Taylor Calderone, age 20, of Glen Street in Oshawa and Dean Tache, age 41, No Fixed Address are all charged with: Careless Storage of a Firearm; Contravene of Storage Regulation; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Possession of a Firearm Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized and Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Serial Number has been Tampered. They were all held for a bail hearing.
