On Sept. 6, Whitby Central Library will be screening The Shape of Water, directed by Guillermo del Toro.
An otherworldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War-era America circa 1962. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and her co-worker discover a secret classified experiment.
Starring Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer, and Michael Shannon, The Shape of Water won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Production Design at the 2018 Oscars.
Admission is free and the movie will begin at 7 pm.
