The Oshawa Generals added some help between the pipes with the acquisition of goaltender Andrew MacLean from the Owen Sound Attack in return for a fifth-round selection in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

The 18-year-old, who is expected to backup overage starter Aidan Hughes, got into 32 games as a rookie with the Attack last season, posting a 11-12-1 record with a 4.36 goals against average and .869 save percentage. The six-foot-two, 203-pound native of Port Huron, MI was Owen Sound’s 10th-round pick (199th overall) in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.

Oshawa opens its 2019-20 regular season schedule on the road Friday against the Kingston Frontenacs. The Generals will face the same Frontenacs in their home opener on Sunday, September 29 at the Tribute Communities Centre. Game time is 6:05 p.m.

Oshawa will be hosting a free street festival ahead of their home opener from 1-6 p.m. on Athol Street in front of the rink.
