The Oshawa Generals are inviting you to help them celebrate the start of a brand new season.
The OHL club, in collaboration with the Downtown Oshawa BIA and the Tribute Communities Centre, is hosing a street festival before its 2019-20 home opener against the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday, September 29.
The Generals are asking fans to come down to Athol Street in front of the Tribute Centre, as festivities kick off at 1 p.m. and run through the day leading to game time at 6:05 p.m. The free event will feature live entertainment on Athol St., between Mary and Albert, and a beer garden for that tailgate experience. There’ll also be activities like a shoot-out game, a rock-climbing wall and an opportunity to take a picture with the Memorial Cup.
“Providing new experiences and enhancing our game-day atmosphere is something the Generals continue to strive to do, and we hope the public enjoys the free event,” said Meghan Wright, director of marketing and sponsorship for the Generals. “We are grateful to have the assistance of the Tribute Communities Centre and the Oshawa Downtown BIA to be able to put on an event like this for our fans.”
