Hot Docs for the Holidays presents free family films

The Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema has a full range of engaging and thought provoking documentaries for the holiday season, but there are also some classic Christmas films you can see for free as part of Hot Docs for the Holidays.

December 15th has the timeless musical White Christmas. Irving Berlin’s excellent score featuring many cherished Christmas songs, including the title song. Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye are old army buddies and entertainers that set out to save their friend’s struggling inn in Vermont and hopefully win over their sweethearts in the process.

December 16th catch the hilarious holiday favourite A Christmas Story. All poor little Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder B.B. gun with a compass. But his mother, his teacher, and not to mention Santa Claus, have other ideas.

December 17th National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation shows family man Clark Griswold’s attempts to put on a proper Christmas celebration for his kin going hilariously awry.

December 22nd It’s a Wonderful Life will captivate young and old with the beloved tale of a family man learning to look at his life in a whole new light on Christmas Eve thanks to the help of an angel trying to earn his wings.
