They love building with Lego® at Oshawa Public Libraries, but they have just designed a LEGO Challenge contest and showcase to show what Oshawa elementary school students can do.
Imagine, design, and create your own Lego® masterpiece to enter the contest. Drop off your entry form or submit it online before January 6th, the end of winter break. Finalists will be selected to display their creations at the Lego® Showcase on Saturday, January 19 at the McLaughlin Branch Auditorium.
Finalists from each grade range will be selected and invited to bring their Lego® creation to the showcase. Your Lego® build must be original and cannot be a kit. You may use kit blocks, but the final build must be of your own design.
If you need inspiration, or would like to use the Library’s Lego® to design your masterpiece, check out the Library’s Lego® Clubs and Bedtime Bash: Lego® Party.
The contest is open to children in Grades 1-8, and will be judged within four grade ranges: Grades 1-2; 3-4; 5-6 and 7-8. Fill out the contest entry form and include a photo of your creation. Submissions can be online or in person.
