A 28-year-old Pickering man is recovering from multiple stab wounds after a domestic-style assault over the weekend.
On Saturday, March 2, 2019, at approximately 8:25 p.m., a stabbing incident occurred in the parking garage of an apartment building on Whites Road in Pickering. A 28-year-old Pickering male was stabbed multiple times and was taken to a Toronto trauma centre for treatment.
During the investigation it was discovered that the 28-year-old victim had attacked the current boyfriend of his ex- girlfriend when the couple was together in the parking garage. The current boyfriend was able to repel the attack by stabbing the aggressor multiple times during the physical struggle.
The current boyfriend, who is also 28 years old, lives in Toronto and was arrested at his residence in Toronto a short time later by Toronto Police. He is facing multiple charges including Assault with a Weapon; Assault Causing Bodily Harm; and Possessing a Weapon Dangerous to the Public. He was held for a bail hearing. His name is withheld to protect the identity of the persons involved.
