A 49-year-old man from Port Perry suffered critical injuries as a result of a collision involving an ATV in Scugog on Saturday.
At approximately 1:22 a.m., officers from Durham Police’s North Division were called to a serious motor vehicle collision involving an ATV in the area of Chandler Drive and The Mississauga’s Trail in Port Perry. The man operating the ATV appeared to have lost control and was thrown from the off-road vehicle. They were not wearing a helmet at the time.
Emergency personelle attended the scene and provided medical assistance. The man was transported to a local hospital, but then air-lifted to a Toronto-area trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries. At this time, he remains in stable but critical condition.
Members of the Durham Police Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
