Durham Regional Police released surveillance images July 25th of several persons of interest in an ongoing stabbing investigation.

A 21-year-old male was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after being attacked in downtown Whitby back on Saturday, June 29. Investigators found the victim had been at a downtown bar with friends and later got involved in a verbal argument with several men on Brock Street, south of Colborne Street.

The argument would escalate into assault and a stabbing incident.

Police have identified six persons of interest, who were in the area at the time of the assault, after a review of a nearby video surveillance camera. Some of the males involved may have left in a white Kia Soul. Officers are asking them to come forward to assist the ongoing investigation.

Descriptions of the persons of interest include:

PO1: A male, black, 20-25 years old, wearing a black jacket, a blue shirt with a white design on it and blue jeans.

PO2: A male, with olive complexion and black hair, wearing a green T-shirt and blue jeans.

PO3: A male, black, wearing a black “Oilers” hat with a white “Nike” T-shirt and black jeans along with black and white running shoes.

PO4: A male, black, about 20-25 years old, wearing a black baseball hat backwards with a black “Roots” sweatshirt and white pants. He also had black runners.

PO5: A male, black, about 20-25 years old, wearing a black and white bucket style hat with a white T-shirt and black pants. He also had white shoes.

PO6: A male, black, about 20-25 years old, with dreadlocks and glasses who was wearing a black jacket and black shirt with blue jeans. He had on black shoes.
