Police Searching for Vehicle in Pedestrian Collision

Durham Police are trying to find the driver who struck a pedestrian in Pickering then fled the scene of the collision, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward

On Friday, March 1, 2019, at approximately 9:00 p.m., a 40-year-old female was crossing Pickering Parkway while walking northbound, just east of Liverpool Road when she was struck by a car travelling westbound. The pedestrian was not at a marked crosswalk.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop and immediately fled the scene.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect vehicle is described as a grey four-door sedan with damage to the driver’s side mirror.
