Join a selection of musicians and songwriters at Robert McLaughlin Gallery on Thursday June 21 as they share insights and stories behind their original music, then enjoy live performances of their songs. The third Thursday of each month brings new musicians, new music, and new stories. The event is organised and hosted by Dale Russell and Artemis Chartier. Admission is $10. Dale Russell is an award-winning producer, songwriter, member of local band, the RADD Collective, and has enjoyed fifty years of extraordinary musical experiences, including seventeen years as lead guitarist of The Guess Who from 1983 – 2000. Artemis Chartier is a flute player, singer-songwriter, and session musician, who co-founded the School Alliance of Student Songwriters with Dale Russell in Oshawa in 2003.
SASS is a free, young artists’ network thriving across Durham, which, for the past 15 years, has offered free writers’ workshops, field trips, song-writing camps, contests and concerts to celebrate children’s creative spark while developing their sense of self and community.
