Forest View Public School and Village Union Public School teamed up with Habitat for Humanity Durham and designed and implemented a collaborative teaching project, in which students designed model homes for the
community. Representatives from Habitat for Humanity examined the model presentations and provided valuable encouragement and feedback on work done by students at the two schools..
The project was designed to bridge the two south Oshawa communities to achieve a common goal of designing and building model homes. This included introducing trade skills and integrating cross-curricular learning goals. Both schools have worked with Habitat for Humanity to help raise awareness about families in need.
