An impaired driver failed to stop for police and led them on a short pursuit before being arrested in Bowmanville.
On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at approximately 4:40 p.m., members from East Division responded to the area of Hartwell Avenue and Bowmanville Avenue for a suspected impaired driver. The suspect vehicle, a blue Chevrolet Blazer, was all over the roads, driving through stop signs and at one-point driving into oncoming traffic. Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect failed to stop and continued driving erratically. The suspect vehicle eventually collided with another vehicle and then fled on foot.
The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to a local area hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Christopher Vella of Lansdowne Dr. in Oshawa is facing several charges including Flight From Police, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Impaired Driving
