Three Suspects Arrested for Cell Phone Store Robbery in Ajax

Three suspects were arrested after an armed robbery in Ajax Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Police responded to an armed robbery at the Fido store on Westney Road in Ajax. One suspect entered the store prior to closing and made a demand for cash and cell-phones while armed with a handgun. The suspect left the store and fled into an awaiting vehicle. Officers in the area were able to locate the suspect vehicle and stopped the vehicle at Brock Road and Rossland Road in Pickering. The staff and customers didn’t receive any physical injuries.

Three suspects were arrested and officers seized a replica handgun, cash and cell-phones.

One of the suspects is also charged with an armed robbery from Thursday, April 11, 2019 at a Rogers/Fido store on Bathurst Street in Vaughan where he entered the store armed with a handgun and stole property.

Micheal Olatayo, age 37, of No Fixed Address is facing numerous charges including 2 counts of robbery, 2 charges of weapons possession, forcible confinement, among others.

Sukwinder Rakhra,, age 36, of Ridgewood Avenue in Montreal and Bhupinder Singh, age 25, of Aylesbury Drive in Brampton are both charged with Robbery and Heroin possession.

They were all held for a bail hearing
