Two-vehicle Uxbridge collision leaves man with critical injuries

A 22-year-old Uxbridge male sustained critical injuries as a result of a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Durham Highway 47, east of Owen Road in the Township of Uxbridge.

On Tuesday, January 29, at approximately 12:09 p.m., officers from the North Division were called to a serious motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Durham Highway 47, east of Owen Road in the Township of Uxbridge. There, a white Ford Focus, travelling westbound lost control and was struck by an eastbound red Hyundai Elantra.

First responders attended the scene within minutes and provided medical assistance to both drivers of the vehicles. The 25-year-old female driver of the Hyundai Elantra was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 22-year-old male driver of the Ford Focus was also transported to a local hospital, then air-lifted to a Toronto area trauma hospital. At this time, the male remains in critical condition.

Members of the DRPS – Collision Investigation Unit, attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
