Whitby Convenience Store Robbed at Gunpoint

A Whitby convenience store was robbed at gunpoint and investigators are trying to identify the two male suspects involved.

On Saturday, March 2, 2019, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers were called to a robbery at the Friendly Variety and Videos store on Garrard Road in Whitby. The two suspects entered the store and one was armed with a handgun. The suspects made a demand for cash and left the store after grabbing some from the register.

They were last seen running northwest across Garrard Road. Officers arrived and searched the area with negative results. No physical injuries were reported.

The first suspect is described as a male, 6′ tall, about 190 lbs., with a medium build, wearing a blue-hooded jacket and grey jogging pants.

The second, is described as a male, 5’10” tall, about 175 lbs., with a medium build, wearing a dark reflective safety coat and black pants.
